Los Angeles Magazine has named Dr. Avneet K. Sodhi Gaur to its 2020 Top Doctors list. The influential Top Doctors list is based upon a physician’s standing within their peer group after a survey of 1,400 doctors in Los Angeles County.
Dr. Gaur joined the prestigious Assil Gaur Eye Institute (AGEI) in 2018 as Director of Glaucoma, as well as a LASIK and Cataract surgeon. Before that, she served as a Glaucoma and Cataract specialist for two years in the Los Angeles area performing high-volume cataract and glaucoma surgeries.

Dr. Gaur is a Board Certified, Fellowship trained Cataract, LASIK, and Glaucoma Specialist. The doctor has expertise in the implantation of premium intraocular lenses such as multifocal, extended-depth focus, and toric implants with the Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA) system as well as Laser-Assisted Cataract surgery.
Dr. Sodhi Gaur is a recognized expert in glaucoma and vision correction surgeries with numerous research and case report publications. She has lectured nationally and has served as a media expert on ophthalmic conditions.
Dr. Gaur is an active member of numerous ophthalmic societies and was featured in Angeleno Magazine in a Los Angeles Power Players section as one of the top extraordinary inspiring individuals.
Dr. Gaur graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from George Washington University, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Religious Studies. She was then accepted early into George Washington Medical School. After receiving her medical degree from George Washington University Medical School and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., completed an internship in Internal Medicine at George Washington University Hospital.
When Dr. Sodhi Gaur isn’t seeing patients, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her husband and two boys.
She speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi, and is proficient in basic Spanish.
