Dr Gaur was on vacation, so did not examine me that day. Dr. Harris examined my eyes instead. She gave me permission to seek an optometrist in order to be fitted with contact lens. AND she saw that I had an outbreak of atopic dermitis in my t-zone on my face and prescribed a creme; also eyedrops for the itchy eyes so I would not rub my eyes having had cataract surgery with Dr. Gaur in April. Dr. Harris said Dr. Gaur would examine my right eye due to the cloudiness she saw there post surgery. Dr. Harris was thorough, treated conditions I was surprised, but grateful. I was supposed to see both Dr. Gaur and Dr. Harris on this visit, so I was disappointed but some progress has been made on the dermitis and advice regarding blepharplasty.

Everything was good

I am still recovering from my PRK procedure (which at this point is 2 weeks), but I can already see so much better compared to my vision before. For reference, I had -8 in both my left and right eye. Dr. Assil and the team took/have been very communicative and helpful before and after the procedure. I was worried with the PRK recovery process since that was all I was qualified for, but the experience has been a lot better than I thought it would be. I had little to no dry eye experience, some pain on the first two days but the painkillers helped and afterwards no pain, and no sand paper like feeling that I saw some people had on reddit from their PRK experience (not with this office but from their PRK in general). You just have to follow the eye drop schedule (which they ensure you know or keep up with), taking supplements, and getting rest afterwards. Also just to talk further about my experience, my bandage contact accidentally came out of my left eye after office hours on the first day, but I was able to call and get an on call doctor to put the a new bandage contact in my left eye within an hour of it coming out. I really appreciated the care when that happened and especially it was painful without it in for that hour haha. I highly recommend proceeding with this office for PRK since that’s the procedure I had done.

I just appreciate the value of care and being able to see again. My vision was a -8 in both eyes, but as I’m healing from my PRK procedure it gets better and better every day.
