Advanced Technologies available at our Santa Monica Eye Institute:

• The Orbscan Corneal Topography System makes a detailed map of the cornea's surface and provides important information about corneal shape and function in health and disease.
• WaveScan technology creates a fingerprint of each patient’s vision and shows the doctor how the patient sees. WaveScan accurately identifies imperfections in the eye and designs a personalized correction plan for each patient. This information is then transferred to the laser used in LASIK and laser eye surgery.
• Humphrey Visual Field is vital diagnostic equipment for measuring peripheral vision loss due to Glaucoma. It can also show evidence of a possible stroke.
• Optos is high-resolution imaging of the entire back of the eye and its components. Optos technology can identify diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal tears or detachments, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
• Blephex is used to precisely clean the lid margins (it removes debris and scales) for patients suffering from meibomitis, blepharitis, and dry eyes.
