I had 2 procedures on my right eye to stop it from constantly tearing. Well they didn’t work. I’m still tearing and now I’m about to try a new drop. Also, there was some kind of small nick on the white of my eyeball. It had to have happened during the procedure. As a result I had a red eye and I had to use steroid eye drops for weeks. I’m sure these things can happen and I don’t think there will be any long term problem, but I wish Dr. Guar had leveled with me about her little mistake. If these new drops don’t stop the tearing, I’ll have to see another doctor. However, everyone in the office, including the doctors are very pleasant. I do believe they are doing everything they can to remedy my problem.

Dr Harris is highly professional but also very personable. Her communications are excellent; she is direct and focused, reviews and confirms the charted history, asks further pertinent questions and listens to the responses. She is not hurried. I love the professionalism and the expertise. But there is always the sense that I am being rushed in and out. I’ve learned to the first appointment of the day so that I don’t have to wait — though even in that instance, I waited for 20 or so minutes — which was better than the 90 minutes I’ve sometimes had to wait. But once I’m in with the doctor, I want to feel that I have her full attention. And while she is excellent at what she does, she is often so harried that I feel she doesn’t have time to breathe and focus. I would enjoy slightly more focussed and unharried time with her.

There was a slight conflict of interest between my original surgeon & the doctors I met regarding suggestions of alternative treatment. I didn't really understand the logic of the conflict but I'm certain everyone did their best.

Dr. Harris did a great job in explaining the process of making a decision on additional eye surgery. She prescribed special eye drops that she would order and coordinate with my insurance company for cost coverage. Initially my insurance did not cover the cost but I was given the first vial at no cost except shipping, however my insurance further reviewed and did approve the cost as I will need a refill. Not sure how involved Dr. Harris was but I am most appreciative.

The last two times I have been to your office I have had to wait for Dr. Harris. This last time I had to wait 45 minutes for her. I could hear her in the hall talking to workmen about the lights outside her patients rooms(me). She was discussing the red and green lights for her assistant.
It would seem to me that should be a management problem not for her to figure out. I was not happy I had to wait so long to be seen. Should I change doctors???

Only feedback I have was I felt leading up to the procedure there was not much communication from the staff. I didn’t not get an email reminder or anything on what prescriptions to get. I only heard from people when I reached out to ask about the medications. Other than that, everything went well and everyone was kind and caring.

The front desk asked me as I was checking in if I thought I needed a prescription for glasses because in that case there was a fee of $60 for the eye exam. I found this very surprising : I just walked in, so how could I know if I needed a prescription BEFORE seeing the doctor? Also the front desk failed to explain to me the reason for that $60 fee: am I not supposed to get an eye exam when I come see my eye doctor? Not very pleasant experience with front desk, felt pushy in adding extra fees.

It has been frustrating to try to set up an appoitment over the phone. The receptionist only seems to be able to negotiate whether a morning or afternoon appointment is preferable. The problem is that sometimes, especially with me, that varies depending on the specific day. They get upset that they can't get off the phone after one attempt and then start to get condescending. Condescention has no place, and is completely unacceptable, in a medical office. Also, it seems that insurance billing is handled off-site and the receptionist who is taking payments don't have the full picture about copayments, coverage, and meeting the deductible. As with most medical providers, the problems are with the support staff. Kerry and Lindsay have been helpful and patient. If only the front office people were as welcoming.

Dr. Harris is very professional and explains everything to you. She never tries to pressure you into anything. If something is working for you she doesn't try to get you to spend $$$ on some new procedure that might not do anything more for you. I appreciate this in her. She is a great doctor.
