This review is for Dr May who was WONDERFUL. He took the time to talk and explained results from my Nov 17 visit. I will continue to see Dr May in the future.
I would not recommend Dr Harris to anyone. She did procedures that I did NOT authorize, but for which I was subsequently billed. She prescribed meds that were horrendously expensive ($2400!!) for my husband, Christopher Darrow and never once mentioning the cost. Most of all, Dr Harris never told us that we could have gotten these eyedrops for NOTHING, simply by requesting a waiver. She prescribed eye drops for both of us and never produced the written documentation required by law. My pharmacist said "my doctor should provide that info". I already stated this to Dr Assil in a 3 page document and in a 3/4 hr telephone call. Nothing came of that. I have great respect for Dr Assil, but feel that the "Assil Clinic" failed in their responsibility to the patient. In fact, I had scheduled my Nov 17 appointment with Dr Assil because he had done the cataract surgery. I wanted to know if there could be a correction for THAT! Instead, I was forced to see Dr Harris and her "hard sell" for more procedures and expensive meds.

I would appreciate more detail and volunteering of information from my doctors/staff to include my visual acuity numbers each time I come in for a check and what eyedrops to continue/start/stop and why. Also an explanation about what is contributing to the slow improvement in my vision in more detail. I am a physician and can understand medical terminology.
It would also be nice if there was a patient portal that allows the patient to see the chart notes.

Yes, when I went to Dr Assil for my "week after surgery" check-up, one of the girls who checked my eyes before Dr Assil saw me told me that I had some scar tissue on my left eye and they wanted to monitor it as normally it does not appear that quickly after surgery, if at all. She had said to me that Dr May had informed me of this when I saw him on the day after my surgery, but he had not, so I was surprised.
Other than what there were no issues and all went well. And I am still doing well.

I'm a new client. Grateful to find you. Suggestions 1. Provide more privacy when standing in a line too close to others. I could hear other's business and was felt I was pushing them along. Too many people at the reception desk. Perhaps change check-in/out process to the client sitting and a staff person coming out to the client ,with clipboard for info collection etc. instuctions instead of the client standing in line.
Your furnishings are beautiful and mostly comfortable. I like the living room style instead of the usual sterile office furniture. The art and sculptures are beautiful. Consider higher seating for those with with difficulties getting up and down.

Cost of recommended surgery right away. I didn't want to make an appt without knowing a close estimate for the procedure.

The communication between Santa Monica Clinic and Beverly Hills requires a bit improvement,
I made my consultation and medical check-up in Santa Monica, result in need for a procedure,
When I visited Beverly Hills clinic for the scheduled procedure, the Payment Receipt mentioned the amount I paid is for “both eyes”,
When Dr. Assil checked, he mentioned the procedure should be for ONE eye only.
When I returned to the reception to correct the amount, they took the receipt where its mentioned “both eyes” and get back to me with another receipt stated “one eye” with the same amount.
This wasn’t comfortable.
NOTE: I already recommend you to a friend (international) who is having a problem in his retina

We love the original Santa Monica office home of my first LASIK surgery, great relaxing environment, very convenient location. My visit went well. The staff and doctor were great. I did ask and filled out a release form to have a copy of my eye measurements emailed to me. It’s been weeks and I have to chase people. I have not received it yet…
You need a mechanism to help people get their eye visit measurements/medical record. Patient’s should not have to chase you for it. Perhaps you should have a patient portal so that the patient may be able to get the record(s) easily. When a patient requests his record, they should be able to get it without hassle.
