Dr. Avneet K. Sodhi Gaur is a Board-Certified Fellowship trained Cataract, Refractive, and Glaucoma Specialist with training and experience developed at nationally renowned ophthalmic institutions, including Tufts Medical Center/New England Eye Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston-Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary.
She's performed thousands of cataracts, glaucoma, and refractive surgeries, including LASIK, PRK, and EVO ICL and implantation of premium intraocular lenses such as multifocal, extended-depth focus, and toric implants with Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA) system as well as Laser-Assisted Cataract surgery.
Dr. Sodhi Gaur also has extensive experience in conventional glaucoma surgical procedures, such as trabeculectomy and glaucoma drainage implants. As well as she also performs state-of-the-art minimally invasive glaucoma procedures, including iStent, iStent inject, Hydrus, endocyclophotocoagulation (ECP), OMNI 360, iTrack canaloplasty, and XEN gel stent, and in-office glaucoma procedures such as a medication implant called Durstya and glaucoma lasers called Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty and Laser peripheral iridotomy.
Dr. Sodhi Gaur is a recognized expert in glaucoma and vision correction surgeries with numerous research & case report publications, lectured nationally, and has served as a media expert on ophthalmic conditions. She is an active member of numerous ophthalmic societies and has been featured in Angeleno Magazine 2019 Los Angeles Power Players section as one of the top extraordinary inspiring individuals.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from The George Washington University, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Minor in Religious Studies, and was accepted early into The George Washington Medical School through the highly competitive Early Selection Medical Program. After receiving her medical degree from The George Washington University Medical School and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., she went on to complete an internship in Internal Medicine at The George Washington University Hospital.
Dr. Sodhi Gaur completed her ophthalmology residency at one of the top programs in the United States at Tufts Medical Center/New England Eye Center (NEEC) in Boston, M.A. under the world-renowned ophthalmologist, Dr. Jay Duker and then was invited to pursue a Glaucoma fellowship under Dr. Cynthia Mattox, former President of the American Glaucoma Society (2015-2017), at Tufts Medical Center/NEEC & OCB-Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary.
In 2018, she joined the prestigious Assil Gaur Eye Institute as the Director of Glaucoma as well as a LASIK and Cataract surgeon. Before that, she served as a Glaucoma and Cataract specialist for 2 years in the Los Angeles area performing high-volume cataract and glaucoma surgeries.
When Dr. Sodhi Gaur isn't seeing patients, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her husband and two boys.
She speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi, and is proficient in basic Spanish.
