Dr. Avneet K. Sodhi Gaur is a Board-Certified, Fellowship trained Cataract and Glaucoma Specialist, with training and experience developed at nationally renowned ophthalmic institutions, including Tufts Medical Center/New England Eye Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston-Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary. As a highly experienced Cataract and Glaucoma surgeon, she has extensive experience in medical, laser and surgical management of glaucoma and cataracts. She has performed thousands of cataract and glaucoma surgeries including multifocal and toric implants with Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA) system and is experienced not only in conventional glaucoma surgical procedures, such as trabeculectomy and glaucoma drainage implants; but also in minimally invasive glaucoma procedures including iStent and endocyclophotocoagulation (ECP).
She received her B.S. in Biology Magna Cum Laude and her medical degree at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. After medical school she remained in D.C. for a year to complete her internship in Internal Medicine at The George Washington University Hospital; thereafter, she moved to Boston to complete her Ophthalmology residency at Tufts Medical Center/New England Eye Center. She remained in Boston to complete her Glaucoma fellowship at Tufts Medical Center & Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston – Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary under the direction of Dr. Cynthia Mattox, President of the American Glaucoma Society 2015-2016.
In 2018, she joined the prestigious Assil Eye Institute in Los Angeles as Director of Glaucoma Services. Before that she served as a Glaucoma and Cataract specialist for 2 years in the LA area performing high volume cataract and glaucoma surgeries.
On a personal note, she speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi and proficient in Basic Spanish. She enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her two sons and husband.
