Dr. Harris went on to complete a residency in primary care and geriatric optometry at the West Los Angeles Veteran’s Administration. This added year of education provided her with a specialty in the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases. During the residency, she instructed students from Southern California College of Optometry on clinical performance, lectured at the VA hospital and nursing home, and organized grand rounds programs.

Dr. Harris is certified in diagnostic and therapeutic medical privileges both in California and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the National Association of VA optometrists, American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, and the California Optometric Association.

At the Assil Gaur Eye Institute, Dr. Harris provides comprehensive eye care examinations, treatment and management of ocular diseases, as well as pre and postoperative care for cataracts, LASIK, and corneal transplants. She specifically works with Dr. Assil in preparing pre-surgical plans for all of his intraocular lens procedures. She is extremely excited to continue her clinical and academic growth with such a talented group of professionals at the Assil Gaur Eye Institute.

Dr. Harris enjoys hiking, running and working out on most, but as clearly states “not all days!” She lives in Los Angeles with her husband.
